My review of “Origins of Altruism and Cooperation” is published in QRB

Orig-Altruism-CoopI am excited to report that my review of Origins of Altruism and Cooperation was just published in the Quarterly Review of Biology. Although it requires some work to get through, this collection presents a really important counter-narrative to the prevailing attitude in evolutionary biology that altruism is simply self-interest in disguise. The book uses a truly multidisciplinary approach to make the overall argument that humans have evolved in order to be (arguably) the most cooperative species on the planet.

This is my third feature length book review in under a year, and it has been a lot of fun to be asked to write these longer, more thoughtful reviews.
