Pratt Institute launches Pratt Shows dedicated website

At the end of every academic year, Pratt highlights the best work done by graduating students in its undergraduate and graduate programs. Much of this work used to be housed “under one roof” at a space in Manhattan, but in recent times the shows have spread out to different places at different times. This made figuring out where to go when to see the best of Pratt work a bit confusing.

Well, the confusion is over with the launch of the new Pratt Shows dedicated website.

I am definitely going to stop by the show that’s in my building; generally, above my head is a gym where I might hear pounding feet or bouncing basketballs, but from May 11th-17th this space is converted (rather remarkably!) into a space highlighting work from students in the architecture, communications design, industrial design, and interior design programs. I also plan to check out the work produced in the small-but-mighty jewelry program (April 4th-19th in the Schafler Gallery) and the always-eclectic Sculpture & Ceramics program (May 1st-11th in the Schafler Gallery). I have been collaborating with the Photography department of late, which has made me more interested in increasing my ‘photographic literacy’, so I am also excited for the Era of Good Feelings show at Pratt Manhattan Gallery May 1st-23rd. As a former secondary school educator, it will also be fun to check out the NYC public school student work done with students in the Art & Design Education program (May 2nd-9th, Nancy Ross Project Space, second floor Main Building).

So much going on! Very cool that these many events are now all housed on one site.
