World of Plants student work

My World of Plants course requires students to complete a Term Project through a semester-long process of scientific research, concept proposal, and creative execution.

Term Project & Summary

Students in the World of Plants start the semester by exploring the plants in their immediate environment, learning to use iNaturalist to identify plant species. Through building a plant collection, students begin to consider the great diversity of roles that plants can play in our ecosystems. Thinking of these roles, students do research to identify a “social challenge” that can be addressed through a “creative intervention” involving plants. They then develop their creative intervention, eventually presenting it to the class.
