Every year, Pratt’s School of Art sponsors the “Horses on Campus” event. The horses come and graze on the lawns behind the Brooklyn Campus Library, giving students the chance to draw or photograph or just enjoy these big herbivores.
Hey, you might even stop to consider the many remarkable adaptations that these Equidae have developed over millions of years of evolution. Or perhaps you are more interested in the way that coevolution with humans have altered the anatomy and behavior of the domesticated horse?
This year’s event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 12th from 9:30am-3:30pm. There’s a rain date set for Monday, April 19th (apparently people don’t enjoy standing out in the rain with the horses!).A Minor Post, Art & Design, Pratt Institute
